I found the best way to keep my hair soft and hydrated and it’s pretty simple

There is: natural, lazy natural and then there’s me. If there is a natural hair short cut, I’ll find it.  On wash days, I am hyped enough to go all out LOC (leave in conditioner, oil and plenty of cream/butter). Thereafter I follow a simple routine  to keep my hair moisturised. It starts with a spritz bottle(any refillable bottle with a spray action). I’ve tried a few recipes, some I found too oily and others left my hair sticky. In the trial and error process, I made a spritz that suits my hair needs. So I am sharing my recipe with you in the hopes that it will treat you as well it treats my 4C hair.

I fill the bottle with the goodies below and lightly spritz in the evenings before installing my chunky twists for bed time. And  in the morning before I leave my house for a quick refresh.

What’s in my spritz bottle?

  1. Water – less than half a cup
  2. Glycerine – 1 tablespoon
  3. Extra Virgin Olive Oil – 1 tablespoon
  4. Black Jamaican Castor Oil – 1 tablespoon
  5. Conditioner – 1 tablespoon

I give it a gentle shake and voila, you have a hair spritz that you can use daily. I adjust the quantities of water to conditioner depending on the consistency of the mixture. If i don’t have olive oil in the house, I double up on the castor oil and vice versa.

If I did not twist my fro before bed time, I use the spritz in the morning to finger comb my hair and style.

Do you use a spritz bottle? If so what’s in yours?
