You should pre-poo overnight 

Yup! You really should. My last post was about how I pre-poo with coconut oil. I’ve taken it up a notch by using coconut oil as a pre-poo, overnight.

How I pre-poo overnight:

  1. I sectioned my hair into 4 large chunks, and applied a generous amount of coconut oil from roots to tips.
  2. I tied each oiled section up with a hairband.
  3. I covered my hair with a plastic cap, tied a head wrap (be sure to tie loosely, I’d hate for you to wake up with a headache) so that the plastic cap does not slip off in the night and I wake up with an oily pillow.
  4. I went to bed like that.

I woke up hours later to a soft fro. So soft that detangling was a breeze. I detangled and continued with the rest of my wash day routine as per norm. You can see one of the detangled chunks in the pics below.

Why you should pre-poo overnight:

Remember, the reason you’re pre-pooing is to nourish your hair so that it’s not striped of moisture as you shampoo, whilst at the same time benefiting from the use of natural oils.

Leaving the coconut oil overnight is also a method of deep conditioning thus a great way to strengthen your strands. In this case it’s also acting as a detangler. Killing so many birds with one stone.
